USA Today bestselling author Catherine Gayle presents another novel in the emotional, bestselling Portland Storm hockey romance series. Wanted: Single father of three needs medical-alert dog and live-in nanny. Chris “Hammer” Hammond is at the end of his career as a Journeyman defenseman with the Portland Storm, but he’s got one final shot at going out on top. Everything’s going according to plan until his ex drops a bomb on him: she’s remarrying, moving to Europe, and leaving the kids behind. Even worse? His youngest is sick. Chris needs help, and he needs it yesterday. When Scout Kennedy is honorably discharged from the army, she’s offered the opportunity of a lifetime. Her military working dog, Tango, is being retired after losing a leg in the line of duty, and Scout gets first dibs on adopting him. Without question, she jumps at the chance. They can be PTSD buddies, just like they were war-zone buddies. But now they both need a new focus for their specialized skills—something that doesn’t involve explosives. Being a nanny was never on Scout’s radar, but the job is perfect for Tango, and these two come as a package deal. Before long, Chris and Scout are butting heads…and knocking boots. But not even fiery chemistry is enough for these two headstrong personalities to meet at center ice when it comes to Tango and the kids. Or is it? Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot?

Which means standing up to Dean Richter, the general manager and the advisor her father has forced on her. Landon Bower, the Cobras new Goalie slips into her life and becomes her best--and only--friend. The time they spend together makes everything else bearable, but before long his eyes meet hers with more than friendship, reflecting what she feels. Which could ruin everything. Two Dominant men who see past her pretty mask and the shallow image she portrayed to the flashing cameras. A gentle attack from both sides that she can't hope to block unless she learns how to play. Ms. Sommerland scored the ultimate Hat Trick with Defensive Zone. A score for plot ~ A score for characters~ A score for conclusion. Georgii Samoilovich Isserson (1898–1976) was one of the most prescient and prolific authors on military art in the years preceding World War II. His theories greatly influenced the Red Army’s conduct of operations and were instrumental in achieving victory over Germany. This book gathers together for the first time English translations of Isserson’s most influential works, including some that are still classified. His writings on the preparation and conduct of the deep offensive operation—the deployment of tanks, mechanized infantry, air power and airborne troops to penetrate deeply echeloned defenses—also serve as a primer on how to construct a position to defeat such an attack. His well argued defense of the deep operation based on an examination of recent wars and his reminiscences about the people and events that shaped Soviet military theory in the 1930s are included.

The Rout of the German-Fascist Troops in Belorussia in 1944 covers the Red Army's Belorussian strategic operation: the linchpin of the 10 major Soviet offensive efforts launched that year to clear the country of the invader. During the course of this operation, the German position along the western strategic direction was destroyed and the stage was set for an advance into Poland and Germany. The success of this operation also set the stage for the Red Army's subsequent advance into the Baltic and South-Eastern Europe. Like most works generated by the General Staff, the Belorussian study divides the operation into two parts: preparation and conduct. The first deals with the massive efforts by the First Baltic and the First, Second and Third Belorussian Fronts to accumulate the men and materiel to break through the German defenses in the swampy and forested terrain of Belorussia. This section contains valuable information on the overall correlation of forces, equipment and troops' densities along the breakthrough sectors and Soviet plans for supplying the offensive, as well as detailed information regarding the employment of the various combat arms. The second part deals with the actual conduct of the several front operations that comprised the overall effort. This section covers the initial breakthrough battles and the encirclement of the Vitebsk and Bobruisk garrisons, followed by the capture of Minsk and the encirclement of sizeable German forces east of the city. The narrative then continues with the follow-on operations to cut off German forces in the Baltic States and to seize crossings over the Vistula River in Eastern Poland. Compiled and written by professional staff officers, this study provides a detailed look at the conduct of one of the major operations of the Second World War. This latest work, along with other studies in this series, offers another insight into the Red Army's conduct of the war at the operational-strategic level.
